Crow Creek Golf Club - Myrtle Beach Golf Course Review

Crow Creek Golf Club in Calabash, North Carolina, gets too little recognition among Myrtle Beach area golf courses.

With five sets of tees, this Rick Robbins design offers golfers of all abilities an enjoyable round of golf.  The golf course is very fair.  It offers wide fairways, although water does come into play on virtually every hole.  Fairway and greenside bunkers also provide a challenge on wayward shots.

The conditions of the course, overall, and the challenge of the greens are the most notable aspects of Crow Creek Golf Club.  The course is always in excellent shape, and the L-93 bent grass greens are fast and undulating.

The Par 3 holes on this course may be among the best collection you will find on one golf course in the Myrtle Beach area.  They all offer a challenge in one way or another.  The Par 4 holes are all relatively forgiving, and the Par 5 holes are a mixed bag in that some offer a real challenge, while others will give up some birdie opportunities.  None of the holes are "tricked up."  Although there are doglegs on some of the Par 5 holes, it's pretty much a "what you see is what you get"  golf course.

My favorite holes are the 8th hole, which is a Par 3 with a sloping island green; the 17th hole, which is a Par 4 featuring waste bunkers and a very challenging green; and the 12th hole, which is a long Par 5 with water down the right side.

The next time you are looking for a good, solid golf course in the Myrtle Beach area, give Crow Creek Golf Club a try.  You'll find a friendly staff, a reasonable price, and a course that is always in super shape.
